Volunteer-Driven Since 2019—Together We Protect Georgian Bay

Who is Save Georgian Bay?

Save Georgian Bay (SGB) is a 100% volunteer-driven organization with no paid staff or payroll, founded in 2019 and committed to protecting Georgian Bay from environmental threats—most urgently, holding TC Energy to account for its proposed Pumped Storage Project. This project poses serious risks, including contaminants polluting our drinking water and construction on fragile karst topography prone to sinkholes. It also threatens the habitat of 30 endangered species that depend on the Bay’s unique ecosystem.

Our mission is to safeguard Georgian Bay’s natural beauty and ecological integrity for future generations.

Polar Dip Committee

The Polar Dip Committee is a passionate group of volunteers who organize one of our most creative and impactful events—the Virtual Polar Dip. Their goal is to unite the community in a fun, meaningful way to raise awareness and funds to stop the TC Energy Pumped Storage Project, hold the company accountable, and prevent contamination and geological damage. Every plunge helps keep Georgian Bay wild and free.
